Baked Chicken Wings

These are basic chicken wings, but with African style seasonings.  You can put just about any kind of sauce on them, but they're very good on their own.


  • 1 kg. chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon olive or palm oil
  • 1 heaping teaspoon curry spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon coarse hot paprika or red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic crystals
  • 1 teaspoon gray salt
  • 1/8 cup red wine or fresh grape juice


  1. Preheat your oven to 400 F or 200 C.
  2. Lay the chicken wings on a foil lined pan, and sprinkle them with the salt and spices.
  3. Drizzle them with the oil, and then the wine.
  4. Massage the seasonings mixture into the wings.
  5. Arrange them in a single layer on the pan.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour, depending how crispy you like them.
